六、内容简介:

The logic synthesis of Boolean functions based on switching lattices shows new combinatorial and algorithmic aspects. Since all switches controlled by the same literal must be connected together, our aim is deriving a feasible layout built in superimposed layers with minimum number of layers.

The specific lattice cell where each switch is placed, and the literal assignment to each cell, can be decided with a certain amount of freedom. Then we first study a lattice rearrangement (Problem N. 1) and a literal assignment (Problem N.2), to place in adjacent cells switches controlled by the same literal. Then we study how to build a feasible layout of connections onto a possibly minimum number of layers (Problem N. 3). We discuss the computational hardness of the three problems and develop heuristic algorithms that show an encouraging performance on a set of standard benchmarks.

七、主讲人简介:

Fabrizio Luccio is now an emeritus professor of computer science at the University of Pisa. Professor Luccio is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and a Life Member of the ACM. His research activity has always been addressed at the relationship between abstract computational models and realistic computers and circuits. In the first decades he has been particularly active in logical design and in the layout of integrated circuits. Then he moved more consistently to the theory and applications of algorithms and data structures, lately with particular attention to Web  motivated problems.
